Old Town Bar
45 East 18th St. (Broadway), Manhattan
Old Town is the kind of bar whose age you can practically taste in the tapping of every beer; it's delicious but can give you a tummy ache the following day, a consequence of Age, as you know. Their burgers are better if you're a beer or two in, which happens quickly here, something we enjoy (easy imbibing in lazy environs). Age Appropriates abound, weekends too, intermixed with the young and the gray. Consistent downfall: lack of toilet paper in the cramped, all-the-way-upstairs bathrooms (don't wait until the last minute to go).
Terrible fries. Shame on you, Old Town Bar

No! I've enjoyed the fried there in the past, and burgers too. The owner is also a *real* Mets fan, which is nice for adult baseball fans, because it's a nice place to appreciate the game without the usual hysterical frat house atmosphere.
