We intended to start at Métrazur (GCT, East Balcony), but they were closed for a party.
Next we considered Cipriani Dolci (GCT, West Balcony aka Vanderbilt Ave.). The bar and tables were certainly AA, but the space was somewhat uncomfortable so we settled into the neighboring Michael Jordan's The Steakhouse N.Y.C. (GCT, East Balcony). As you can imagine, there's serious turnover at a bar in a train station. And those who stay? Well, let's just say if you're not waiting for a train or someone arriving on a train and you're hanging out drinking in Grand Central, you are a very good drinker. More on that later. This post is just a roundup.
Downstairs, Zocalo's bar is cramped and doesn't benefit from the fresh air of the rest of the basement ('outside' tables are better). Inside The Oyster Bar were even more Age Appropriates. Holy Cow. We haven't even mentioned that. AAs galore in GCT.
We thought we already covered the Campbell Apartment (15 Vanderbilt Ave, GCT) but we can't locate the post. They too were having a party. But we know the deal there, and we'll tell you more in the individual reports on each of the above mentioned places. And we have pictures too. Coming soon.
well -- too bad the GCT bar crawl venues weren't cooperating with the plan! but perhaps we will try again after the holidays.
i think we might need to watch the superbowl at muldoon's, however.
